Joa Czogalla
is a professional lighting cameraman and Steadicam operator from Germany, based since 2005 in Shanghai. He has worked in Germany as a photographer for magazines and for the SWR marketing department. Since 1996 he worked mainly as DOP/camera and Steadicam operator in a wide range of fields, covering news reports, commercials and TVCs (for instance Siemens and Suntech), documentaries (for ARD, ARTE, BBC, CBC, National Geographic, RTL, 3SAT, ZDF) as well as short feature films.
He has worked in locations all over the world, and has participated in such ambitious projects as the documentary about the Peace Nobel Prize awarded UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan for ARD (German first public channel) and the documentary 'The Gods Come Home' about 'China's Leap To Faith' for VisionTV Canada broadcasted on CBC and the World Wide Imagefilm for Suntech.
His work about Art, Architecture and Design ( Norman Foster, Frank O. Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Herzog & de Meuron, Richard Meier, Jean Nouvel, Peter Zumthor, Achille Castiglioni, Ettore Sottsass, Michele de Lucchi, Jasper Morisson, Konstantin Grcic,Tony Cragg, Charles and Ray Eames and others) has been part of exhibitions of The Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn and is part of installations in the permanent collection of the "Pinakothek der Moderne", Munich (Germany).
